Big News! The RMAFP has continued their streak and can claim another successful Summit. Many thanks to our conference chairs Joe Carroll of Public Trust Advisors and Peter Maher of Capital One. They, along with the many volunteers and our own KML team who also helped in the planning and flawless execution of the whole event. Not only did they work very hard to bring us the best speakers and programs, they sprinkled in a little fun along the way.

Many of our members and those new to the RMAFP attended this great event. The Summit kicked off with our Pre-conference reception where everyone was able to get to know each other, preview the next day and have a little food and fun. The day of the conference started bright and early with a very informative Focus on the Treasurer Panel discussion. Our panelists gave us great insight into their world and what they see as critical areas to focus on in our industry in the near future.

As everyone broke into individual sessions it was hard to choose which one to attend as they each featured timely and informative topics. The subjects ranged from Big Data to Payment Benchmarking along with the always critical updates on Cyber Fraud. Several excellent roundtable discussions engaged the audience in a dialogue on Women in Finance and FP&A Best Practices.

Our luncheon speaker, Sean Swarner, brought us an inspiring message of perseverance that was highly rated by the audience as we laughed and then pretended we didn’t tear up when he described his difficulties and how he was able to overcome them through a successful climbing career.

And finally, we all were able to test ourselves and realize we know quite a bit more about our industry than we thought in the ‘not so trivia’ game of Kahoots. Teams were formed and pitted against each other in what turned out to be loads of fun. We learned a little bit too.

Our sponsors deserve a special Thank you too as none of this would be possible without their support. Please thank your fellow members and colleagues who represent these great companies when you see them at our next event!
