Description: 

Bitcoin is taking the world on by storm. However most people have never heard of it or understand how revolutionary it can be. Is bitcoin money? A payment system? A ledger? A technological platform? Or a ponzi scheme? Although bitcoin is one of the fastest growing industries today, there is much confusion about what it is and what it is not.

In this presentation Stephen Macaskill will explain what bitcoin is, its applications in financial and technological innovations, and the implications that bitcoin poses to the status quo.

Stephen Macaskill is the CEO of Amagi Metals and an Alumni Board member of the Foundation for Economic Education. He attended the University of Rochester where he began specializing in the study of the Austrian business cycle, sound money, and alternative competing currencies, graduating with a degree in financial economics. He has made presentations across the US on the topic of Bitcoin and money including: Money 20/20, Denver Bitcoin Center, Liberty on the Rocks, Foundation for Economic Education, Freedom Fest and many more.
