Description: “A Simple Twist of Fate” brought Lloyd Lewis from the thick of the financial sector to the unchartered world of nonprofit thrift. Arc Thrift Stores was a foreign land for this financier who’s experience was deeply entrenched in high finance with large corporations such as IBM. To say the least; arc Thrift Stores was a whole new world. Fate dealt Lloyd a hand, the birth of a son with Down syndrome, that left him grappling for purchase and fighting to change the world for his son.

A Simple Twist of Fate…
Description:
“A Simple Twist of Fate” brought Lloyd Lewis from the thick of the financial sector to the unchartered world of nonprofit thrift. Down syndrome wasn’t something Lloyd Lewis was familiar with but it wasn’t going to define his child. Learn from Lloyd’s ten years of leadership as President and CEO, bringing unprecedented financial growth and record breaking funding to the Arc Chapters, fall in love with the wonderful human beings he fights for each and every day and join this passionate man as he shares his purpose to make acceptance of people with disabilities the norm rather than the issue. In addition to unprecedented growth of Arc, Lloyd has created substantial investment funds, along with up to date treasury management practices, that assure Arc’s continuing needed funding far into the future.
Lloyd Lewis has served as President and CEO of arc Thrift Stores since December 2005; a Colorado non-profit corporation whose primary lines of business include the popular arc Thrift Stores as well as the Vehicles for Charity program. In this capacity, Lloyd is responsible for generating funding to support advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities in the state of Colorado for 13 Arc Chapters.
Lloyd’s role includes oversight and management of arc’s 22 retail stores, 15 donation stations, 85,000 sqft of warehouse space, a fleet of over 50 trucks, a corporate office, support operations and a staff of over 1,300 employees.
Lloyd holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago Graduate Business School, and has prior corporate experience with companies including IBM and Smith Barney.
