The Stark Reality of Cyber and Payments Fraud in an Ever-Evolving Digital World

Sesson Description:

As digital transformation continues to shape organizations, cyber theft and fraud is also rapidly evolving.  This challenge amplifies the urgent need for tighter data security controls and related compliance measures, particularly with regard to protecting company and customer data and assets.  In this session, cyber and financial crimes experts will survey the current cybercrime and payments fraud threat landscape; explore emerging and evolving threats and trends; and share ideas to help your organization maintain good cyber and risk hygiene and protect itself from these very real and potentially costly dangers.

Moderator -Dan Maurice, Senior Vice President- PNC West Regional Sales Executive | Treasury Management

Based in Denver, Dan leads a corporate banking treasury management sales team covering the western United States. My team helps companies get the most out of their cash management operations. It all starts with understanding their business - both what they do and how they do it. From there, we help them to uncover the challenges that are often overlooked and identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce risk, and shorten their cash conversion cycle.

Helping my team succeed and partnering with companies to avoid pitfalls are my top priorities.

Panelist - Chris Byers, PNC Senior Digital Product Manager

S. Christopher (Chris) Byers is a Senior Digital Product Manager at PNC with more than 20 years of experience in banking, spanning a number of business/operations and risk management roles.  His focus includes operational risk management and fraud.  In his current role, Chris owns and manages PNC’s Account Verification Services offering.  Chris has a BS from the University of Pittsburgh, and a JD from the Duquesne University School of Law.

This team includes private sector partners from numerous financial services organizations, telecommunications, technology, academia and e-commerce.  Law Enforcement partners include a growing list of Federal, State & Local agencies, as well as international investigators from more than a dozen countries.  Mr. Larkin also co-authored the FBI National Cyber Crime strategy in 2002.
