Good day RMAFP!

As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2012, there is much to talk about and celebrate:

·        SIGN UP TODAY!  For the May 10th, 2012 Rocky Mountain Summit conference - The Summit Committee has secured the Marriott Denver Tech Center property for the location of our upcoming annual conference, May 10th, 2012!  This new location will allow us to widen our reach to our southerly-located membership (south Denver, Castle Rock, Colorado Springs) while still maintaining a fairly central location for the Denver-metro area members.  Additionally, this venue will allow us to:

ü Enjoy an excellent event in a remodeled space, all while staying within in our budget

ü Keep the attendee price very affordable

ü Added value of FREE parking!

·        Dynamic Education seriesI hope that you have been able to take advantage of the many varied and educational opportunities provided to you by the RMAFP.

We had our 3rd annual joint luncheon with the Colorado CFA Chapter at the Denver Athletic Club in December.

State Treasurer, Walker Stapleton, gave us an update on the Colorado economy and answered questions from our membership in January.

In February we began our new partnership with RIMS (The Risk Management Society – Colorado Chapter) with an information panel discussion on Strategic Risk Management in the 21st Century.

Also in February, many  Corporate and Government practitioners participated in our annual Roundtable, specifically designed to give this segment of our membership an opportunity to discuss top of mind industry issues and to network with one another.

Usha Sharma, Past President of the RMAFP and Treasurer of Denver Water, arranged for our March field trip at the Marston Water Plant.  We learned about the intricacies of providing clean, potable water to our communities in the front-range and the finance operations behind maintaining this public necessity.

Our April 11th luncheon will also serve as our annual business meeting where the new slate of Directors will be presented, with three new Board member recommendations, for vote by the membership.

We will end our 2011/2012 RMAFP membership year with our exciting Summit Conference on Thursday May10th!

·        Our membership continues to be vibrant and engaged with over 230 active members we continue to build a strong and vibrant membership, which contributes to our association through participation and volunteerism, inspiring each other as “thought” leaders and enriching our industry with tremendous expertise.

·        Volunteers this association is the amazing organization it is because of all the volunteerism we see from our membership!  If you are looking for an opportunity to grow personally or professionally, please let us know how we can help you get plugged in with the RMAFP.  There are exciting way to bring your energy, expertise, creativity and yes, your genius to your association!
